Francesca Bianchi Unveils ‘Exquisite Affair’, A New Fragrance by HEDONIK, at ESXENCE 2024

Exquisite Affair, the new fragrance for her second brand HEDONIK, was introduced during ESXENCE 2024 in splendid days spent in Milan. HEDONIK was launched in Florence in 2021, where it was born from the cradle of a line of leather accessories presented together to mix the liberal spirit of Amsterdam with Florentine craftsmanship.

This is the third fragrance from the Dutch label, and it continues to resonate with the signature motif of the brand: a plump leather base intertwined with Bianchi’s favored powdery accord, predominantly showcasing Florentine orris absolute. This particular blend is actually both an allusion to the openness of Amsterdam and Florentine, centuries-old perfumery traditions renowned for tanneries and the cultivation of iris.

This is at the heart of the new fragrance: “the seduction of innocence.” Described by the creative team at Balmain as a “sweet and sexy” combination, ‘Exquisite Affair‘ unexpectedly pairs the peach and leather elements they find to be contradictory for innocence and seduction in this new scent. This harmonious blend is considered unconventional and playful, breaking traditional fragrance norms.

It is Francesca Bianchi herself who describes “Exme” as an innocent sweet, wed with the bad girl’s provocative leather. The nose opens energetically from top notes of bergamot and green mandarin, as fresh as newly picked fruits. The heart reveals a peachy osmanthus note underlined with a playful hint of caramel-cotton candy intertwined with blackcurrant.

The more alluring side of the scent has a sophisticated leather accord, described by Bianchi as both animalic and discreetly potent, combining with the sweetness of caramel. The end result is a nose of intensely rich, and invitingly sweet aromatic, smoky aromas, with a lactonic blend that could be creamy in nature.

While revisiting the classic charm and bringing it forth, Bianchi also puts enchantments through brighter and warmer peachy notes with modern accents of caramel, vanilla, and an array of spices. And the modern favorite of deepening the tonalities of peach and leather, Osmanthus—definitely ensuring the sweet notes last much longer than those of the leather, by that, insinuating innocence prevails over seduction.

The presentation is to take place at the HEDONIK evening held on the 19th of April 2024 in Amsterdam. ‘Exquisite Affair’ will be retailed in two formats of flacons: 30 ml and 50 ml Extrait de Parfum. The prices are 118 and 168 Euros, correspondingly.
